"...nobly ambitious writing..."
Chris Jones, Tribune
"A searing drama...a potent brew of political intrigue, sibling rivalry and Oedipal passions..."
"...may be the most overtly (if subversively) Christian play in many a year."
Sun-Times
"...refreshingly strange...part dark comedy, part morality drama, part 'who-dun-it' that delivers enough twists to satisfy."
Chicago Stage Talk Radio Show
The author presents the world premiere of his new play, Beat the Jester.
Set in a bar during the Southside St. Patrick's Day parade, this dark comedy mixes Chicago politics with the supernatural.
The play follows an alderman's son who has seen the new face of God in a Chicago ward that has everything a god could want - sex, murder, racism, fraud and insanity.
Director Richard Shavzin describes the script as Early and Often meets The X-Files.
This Equity show runs two hours with one intermission.
